Sean Whorton

Join West Liberty University Freshman Sean Whorton in this edition of Artist Spotlight as he dives into the life and times of musician Kurt Cobain.

Sean specifically chose to cover Kurt Cobain for two main reasons. The first being that he grew up around and in the grunge and alternative rock genres. Some bands that are major influences in his life include Nirvana, Green Day, and Wheezer. Secondly, Sean has found that Cobain had a very close social and political view as his own and thus has heavily related to him.

Throughout the podcast, join Sean as he discusses topics such as Cobain’s life, writing experiences and influences – like his ‘foster family’ the Reeds – as well as points of his activism and his fight for equality for marginalized groups such as the LGBTQ+ community, sexual assault victims, the pro choice movement, and more.
