Faculty Focus with Dr. William Scott Hanna

For interview #3, Faculty Focus, Dr. William Scott Hanna came into the studio to explain his passion for English and writing. He mentioned some of his professors he had here at West Liberty and how they brought him to his current role of teaching English. He also mentioned how he came from a family of teachers that influenced him to end up where he is.

This “legendary” professor talked about some of his published pieces as well. Dr. Hanna  has over 15 published poems and a creative nonfiction piece. He touched on how he takes inspiration from his family and even gave us a reading of two of his poems, “The unfolding”, and “Whiskey and the Universe.” Both of these touching pieces were inspired by his children.  Dr. Hanna also shared some tips on how to avoid writer’s block and how to keep your inspiration when writing.
