Heather Hale

Heather Hale is a Senior at West Liberty University majoring in Broadcasting and she grew up in Cameron, West Virginia and graduated from Cameron High School in 2016.

She is passionate about the outdoors and always brings her dog along.  They most recently took a hiking trip to Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, Ohio. It was a hot day like the ones we’ve had recently, and they enjoyed vanilla ice cream cones before and after their adventure.

In the evenings to relax, she likes to play Overwatch on her Playstation Four. There aren’t many options around Cameron when she has free time, so if she doesn’t take her dog for a walk, she stays inside and plays games.

During the school year, she does enjoy spending her time interviewing, collecting information, and compiling original works for her classes and the student newspaper The Trumpet.

After graduation, she plans to move near Charleston, South Carolina, and start her career in news broadcasting near the ocean. She hopes to secure a job as a news anchor.

For Heather, college radio means having a direct opportunity to communicate with those tuned in to be entertained or informed. She said that the responsibilities of producing correct, timely content for her audience is building up the skills that she will be able to demonstrate once she graduates and starts her career.
