Earth Day 2015 with WGLZ

WGLZ celebrated Earth on April 22nd, 2015. Activities included tie-dying, t-shirt upcylcling into bags, music, and a raffle!

Starting at 10am, students and staff stopped by the union to learn about how they could save the planet. WGLZ provided instructions to upcycle old T-shirts into reusable tote bags, photo opportunities with our “I heart recycling” sign, and a chance to leave their hand print on our “Tree of Listeners”.Earth Day Flyer

WGLZ also had a pair of Pirates tickets to give away in a raffle. To enter, students and staff could donate their old clothing or shoes to go to the Greater Wheeling Coalition for the Homeless and the Nike Resuse-A-Shoe program.

At noon, students started to tie-dye custom WGLZ Earth Day shirts in the union, and some even stayed until 4pm!

We thank everyone for participating in our Earth Day celebration, and we hope that you continue to take care of the planet!
