WGLZ looking for new General Manager

Our current GM, Walker Polivka, has decided to step down from his current position, having held it for the past few years and his hard work and dedication has helped to shape the station for the better. His awards and scholarships were a testament to his hard work and talent and we look forward to seeing what he does in the future.

WOW Celebrates Grand Opening

Zahir, Valerie, and President Greiner

On October 18, 2018, WOW Cafe — proven to be a massive hit on campus, if the constant lines are any indication — celebrated its official grand opening with a hot wing eating contest. The prize was $50 dollars to Sodexo, which went to two different winners.

Thanks to WOW Cafe employees for all of their hard work!

Celebrity Server

Beth Allen and Branson Swainksi

Homecoming Week is always filled with events, including candidates for Queen and King, taking their time to serve dinner to cafeteria patrons as they vied for their coveted titles. Celebrity Server happened on October 16th, sponsored by student government.

WGLZ was there to provide music and a raffle. Thanks to Beth and Branson for their contributions!

Halloween at WGLZ

DJs Joe Beers and Luke Karabas hosted a special Halloween-themed episode, with a special guest appearance by Professor Chris Lee, who lived up to the Halloween spirit, by showcasing some spooky makeup arm wound work done by one of  West Liberty’s theater students, Andrea.

Courtesy of producer Jeff Pfister, those in the studio also enjoyed fresh air-fried jalapenos for the first time and deep fried bread pickles, both of which were a hit.

Stay tuned for future special events, including deep fried turkey for Thanksgiving!
