Welcome to the Hilltop!
New Student Orientation and Registration offers an opportunity for all first time freshmen or transfers and their parents/families to attend various informational sessions, meet with faculty and staff, and to finalize arrangements with various offices on campus (registration, financial aid, housing, and the learning and student development center).
If you have questions or need any assistance, you can email us at orientation@westliberty.edu. If we cannot assist, we will be sure to get you directly to the person who can assist you!

Attending an On Campus Event
Our on campus events will begin with registering at College Hall. Parking will be available behind the ASRC building near College Hall. We will have directional signs and staff available to direct you on the day of your event. If you have any mobility concerns, we will have a shuttle available at the event. If you have questions, please feel free to email orientation@westliberty.edu. Below is a schedule of sessions for the event, along with information for each session:
- 8:30am-9:15am: Registration
- 9:15am-9:30am: Welcome/Schedule Review
- 9:30am-11:00am: Parent Session and Student Session
- 11:00am-11:30am: Faculty Session
- 11:30am-12:30pm: Lunch
- 12:00pm-4:00pm: Appointments and Offices open on campus
The Welcome Session will offer a brief greeting, a review the schedule and plans for the day, and some reminders to maximize your experience for the day.
Parent Sessions are intended for parents to meet members of our Student Affairs and Enrollment staff, including Student Health Services, Financial Aid, Housing and Residence Life, and Academic Support Services. We will share information to assist you in finalizing your student’s transition to college, and navigating the first year smoothly.
Student Sessions are intended for students to meet some of our Student Affairs and Enrollment staff and student leaders. Students will learn how to navigate several of our online systems, including their Single Sign On account, WINS, Housing Portal, and email. Additionally, we will offer the opportunity to ask questions, gain insight from current student leaders, and meet your fellow future Hilltoppers! University staff and student leaders in attendance at the Student Sessions will include Admissions, Student Activities, Greek Life, Housing & Residence Life, and various student organizations. Additionally, transfer students will have an opportunity to meet with faculty/advisors from their field of study to finalize schedules.
Faculty Sessions are intended for students and parents to attend. The Dean of the College for your program of study, as well as faculty from within the different programs will be available to discuss their specific programs, and to answer questions you may have about courses, faculty expectations, or the field of study in general. Each College and Program of Study manages this session differently. You may meet with all members of the faculty and fellow students, or they may split the group into smaller groups by program. This is a great opportunity to meet faculty for your programs. If you are unable to attend on a date for your College, you can attend the open date, where we work to have at least one faculty or Dean from each College.
After a wonderful complimentary lunch in the Marketplace, the afternoon is open to complete appointments, finalize plans, and check off items on the new student “to do” list. Students can get their picture taken for their Topper Card, see their residence hall room, ask questions about course schedules and finalize financial aid.
