Carolyn Sue Garrison Elementary Education Scholarship Endowment

Income from donations to this endowment shall be used to provide a full or partial scholarship(s) to one or more students to assist them in attending West Liberty State College. As a measure of predictability of student success the successful applicant must have a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. for consideration for this scholarship.

Preference shall be given to provide a full tuition scholarship versus multiple partial tuition scholarships should enough funds be available to fund a full tuition scholarship. The annual scholarship amount shall be based upon the annual income produced by the fund’s investment performance as part of the overall return on the West Liberty State College Foundation assets.

The scholarship shall be awarded to incoming Elementary Education Majors. Once the scholarship has been awarded to a specific recipient, that individual shall receive the scholarship for the duration of his or her educational experience at West Liberty State College for a maximum benefit of four (4) years. Said student(s) shall maintain a cumulative 2.5 G.P.A. or the minimum for Elementary Education teaching majors (whichever is greater) at the end of each academic year in order to remain eligible for the scholarship. If the students fails to meet either of the two above named stipulations, all eligibility for this scholarship will be forfeited and said funds shall be given to another student from the next incoming class who is eligible to fulfill the requirements for a student in their freshman year.
