Gold Headlines: January 16, 2015

January 17, 2015 By WLU Webmaster

=Welcome Back!=
Welcome everyone back to a new semester, always a very exciting time for our faculty, students, and friends. We encourage every student to embrace the opportunity to make this a great semester — remember to always do your best and you will shine like a star!

=The Center for Arts and Education – One of the Top Reasons to Choose West Liberty University=
The Center for Arts and Education at West Liberty University is a multi-faceted hands-on learning laboratory and resource center focused on the integration of the arts, creativity, and technology. The Center provides innovative professional development programs and resources to educators, students and others working in community and school settings. Please join Courtney Forsch and Mariah Steele, student teachers, to view a Virtual Tour at the Center. Here you will meet a lot of creative people and receive a variety of resources and supports to discover and maximize your talents.

=Athletic Training Room Transformation=
Construction on the Athletic Training room has begun since the winter break. Everything from nails to paint to new flooring is being used to update the outstanding learning environment and resources! Thank you to all that are making this a reality, especially Pat Henry, Joe Mills, and the great Maintenance Team at the University! This space was formally used to house the Exercise Physiology Program.

=Special Education Summer Courses=
Are you considering adding a special education minor? You can get a jump-start, by taking SPED 341 and SPED 391 online in Summer 2015! If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Professional Education at 304-336-8047.

=hAPPy Friday Tools/Apps Learning=
Coach’s Eye is a video capturing app for enhancing performance. Coaches and trainees can record HD videos and instantly review them in slow motion to evaluate performance on the field or on the go using instant replay tools. Users can share coaching videos simply via social media, email, text massage, other apps (e.g., Dropbox, Edmodo, Evernote). Watch a brief Tutorial Video to learn a quick how-to.
