Awards
Outstanding Education Major Awards
Each year, the Teacher Education Program recognizes two senior education majors who the faculty has rated as the most outstanding members of the graduating class. In order to be eligible for this honor, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An overall G.P.A. of 3.5 or above
- G.P.A. of 3.5 or above in education
- Nomination by one or more faculty members
- Outstanding performance in student teaching
- Demonstration of the personal and professional characteristics of an outstanding teacher
- Membership in Kappa Delta Pi (recommended)
Special Recognition Awards
Special Recognition awards may be given in the following areas:
- Technology
- Reading
- Early Education
- Special Education
- Professional Activities
