To meet accreditation standards, WLU’s Athletic Training Program is transitioning to a Master’s degree. Prospective students wishing to pursue Athletic Training will be enrolled in the Exercise Physiology Pre-Athletic Training concentration and have the opportunity to complete the Masters of Science in Athletic Training as part of a 3+2 program (Bachelor’s degree Exercise Physiology + Master’s degree Athletic Training) in 5 years. Admissions Requirements
- Official transcripts from a regionally accredited college or university, with a 3.0 GPA
- Bachelors degree in healthcare or science-related fields such as Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, pre-healthcare profession or equivalent
- 50 Observation Hours from 2 different AT settings
- 3 letters of recommendation: 2 of the recommenders must be from the supervising certified athletic trainers from each of the observation hours settings.

Cost for Graduate Coursework
In-state or out-of-state: ONE RATE! MS Athletic training domestic students pay one rate per credit hour for tuition, so whether you live in West Virginia or are an out-of-state student, your tuition will be the same rate: $460 per credit hour. International student tuition is $550 per credit hour.
