“Using Applied Behavior Analysis in Early Education”
This workshop will provide early childhood professionals with the basics of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and applications for the early education classroom. Topics will include integrating ABA into existing curricula, utilizing ABA to improve behavioral outcomes for children, and using ABA for children who have not responded to other intervention methods. An emphasis will be placed on data-collection and data-based decision making.
“Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support in Early Education”
This workshop will provide early childhood professionals with the basics of behavior as they apply to recognizing challenging behavior, choosing appropriate interventions, and measuring outcomes of those interventions. A variety of behavioral interventions and strategies will be covered.
“Autism Friendly” Early Education Classroom
This workshop will allow early childhood professionals to explore topics related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Topics will include characteristics of ASD and strategies for meeting the needs of students with ASD. A question and answer session will be included to study specific cases brought by participants.
“Inclusion: Early Education Considerations”
This workshop will provide early childhood professionals with techniques to include students with special needs in their classrooms. Topics will include Universal Design for Learning, differentiation, and Positive Behavior Supports.
“Assessment & Data Collection in the Early Education Classroom”
This workshop will provide early childhood professionals with techniques to design, manage, and maintain data collection systems for all learners. Emphasis will be placed on assessing before, during, and after instruction and making decisions based on the data collected.
“Play-based Learning”
This workshop will provide early childhood professionals with the necessary knowledge and tools to support, enrich, and implement play-based learning environments for young children. Topics will include creative learning experiences for children, research-based play strategies, and integrating the curriculum through play.
“Reggio Emilia: An Early Childhood Approach for All Educational Levels”
This workshop will provide participants with detailed information about the Reggio Emilia Approach and its unique perspectives on early childhood education. Participants will learn how early childhood strategies can be applied and transferred to all educational levels. Attendees will apply their acquired knowledge to develop individualized “Reggio Emilia Approaches” for their own classrooms and grade levels. (2 hours)
