Noted Dutch vocal ensemble “Quink” will be in concert at West Liberty University’s Elbin Auditorium in College Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 9. The program is free and open to the public.

Representing four centuries of music – from the Renaissance to the present – in three languages, these singers from the Netherlands are widely regarded as one of the top a cappella ensembles in the world. Quink also acts as an ambassador for new Dutch music. The group is comprised of Marjon Strijk, soprano; Elsbeth Gerritsen, alto; Harry van Berne, tenor; and Kees Jan de Koning, bass.

Quink’s first U.S. tour in 1985 was so artistically successful that the group now returns each season. Recent reviewers have praised the quartet’s “superb balance, intonation and musicianship.” Their sound, another reviewer wrote, “is full, rich and colorful.”

Their current U.S. tour includes universities and churches in Mississippi, Alabama, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Other performances in America have included residencies at Dartmouth and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and concerts in Spievy Hall, Atlanta; Interlochen Center for the Arts, Michigan; Houston Friends of Chamber Music, Texas; University of Michigan at Ann Arbor; and the famed Chautauqua Institution, New York.
