“Our Mission is that through sharing these images, we will begin a dialog between soldier and civilian, to bridge this ever-widening divide between those who have endured these wars and the rest of the world that can only imagine the horrors. To bring understanding and true empathy of what these men and women experience during modern conflicts.”

November 21, 2011 at 7 PM the Graffiti of War Project will be presenting on the campus of West Liberty University. Director of Operations, Jaeson “Doc” Parsons will be discussing what we can do to support our veterans, how art therapy can benefit veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and mTBI (Mild Traumatic Brain Injury), the Graffiti of War Project’s National Gallery Tour and plans for a book.
Department Chair Brian Fencl stated, “This will be an opportunity for WLU’s new Art Therapy program to discuss ways that we can work together. If we combine our resources, we will be able to help veterans and provide meaningful learning opportunities for our students.”
Additional information about the Graffiti of War Project can be found on their website (graffitiowar.com), on Facebook at Unconventional Military Art or by viewing a recent interview of Jaeson by Natalie Hrebeck on the WTOV9 website.
