The Communication department recently appointed Christian D’Andrea as our newest faculty member. Christian comes to West Liberty by way of Harvard and Oxford and has some exciting plans for our students.

This fall Christian will be hosting West Liberty University students on his television series, Hurricane Hunters. Hurricane Hunters will premiere in 2012 on the Weather Channel.

The HURRICANE HUNTERS are the Air Force Reserve squadron based out of Biloxi, Mississippi, that flies planes into hurricanes to better understand them and get key pieces of meteorological data that can only be gathered by flying into the eye of a hurricane.  The HURRICANE HUNTERS provide the missing information that allows weather services to predict storm path and warn cities.  The stakes are high.  People’s lives depend on them.  The series will track their lives and their missions during the height of hurricane season, from September through November.
