Food Security at West Liberty
Food security is the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods, or the ability to acquire such foods in a socially acceptable manner. National data indicates that one third of college students are food and/or housing insecure. To help combat food insecurity on campus, students can visit the on campus food pantry or receive a free meal card.

WLU Food Pantry
Welcome to the West Liberty University Food Pantry!
Welcome to the West Liberty University Food Pantry, a temporary, judgment-free place for students facing hard times, such as running short of money for the month, or facing emergency situations. We are located in the Student Union- 2nd Floor S-17 (Above Jazzman’s near Counseling Services)
Who We Are
The WLU Food Pantry is a campus food bank available to all WLU students to help alleviate the food insecurity that students may face at some point during their time in college. The Pantry operates on an anonymous basis. Students are asked to complete a inventory form every time they utilize the Pantry. This is only for data reporting. No personal information is taken.
Hours are currently based off of the University Union hours, but will soon be available 24/7 by card access.
Why we offer a pantry
Food insecurity has increasingly become an issue on college and university campuses and can pose a significant barrier to student success. Many students come to campus with limited resources and little experience managing their needs. Hunger makes it difficult to study, sleep or engage in academics and social activities at the same level as peers. If our students’ physiological needs aren’t being met, it ultimately decreases the chances of them meeting their full potential and their overall experience at West Liberty University. The pantry is equipped to provide a variety of food and personal care items for our students in need.
Donate items
We are sustained by the generosity of our donors. We seek donations of perishable and non-perishable food items as well as personal care items. Those who wish to donate to the pantry can drop items off during open hours. Feel Free to donate by direct purchasing items from our Amazon Wish List here !
