West Liberty University will hold its Spring 2012 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 12, at 11 a.m. in the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex (ASRC). Doors will open for seating at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are not required. Parking will be available for guests behind the ASRC.
Alfred de Jaager, Director of Choral Activities, and James Watson, Athletics Director, will be the commencement speakers.
The graduating student with the highest grade point average in each respective college carries the
college banner. During the ceremony, the following students will be serving as banner carriers: College of Arts and Communication, Karissa Martin; Gary E. West College of Business, Cody Thomas; College of Education, Olivia Fristick; College of Liberal Arts, Rebecca Childers; College of Sciences, Sharon Cain/Krista Kent; School of Professional Studies, Theresa Calvert.
According to Registrar Scott Cook, 291 students are expected to complete graduation requirements during the spring semester.
Victoria Lavorini, St. Clairsville, Ohio, will be the graduating student speaker.
The Commencement Ceremony will be televised live on WLTV, Comcast Channel 14.
A reception for graduates, guests and families will be held in the College Union immediately following
the ceremony.
