WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., April 21, 2015 — West Liberty University’s annual Great Gala has a new feature this spring — a Red Carpet entrance, complete with fashion commentators and drama.
WesBanco is the title sponsor for this year’s Great Gala, which takes on a Hollywood theme. The evening of dining, dancing and supporting higher education is set for Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Glessner Auditorium, Oglebay Resort.
From 6:30 – 7 p.m., on WTRF ABC Ohio Valley, news anchors Tate Blanchard and Laurie Conway will host the Red Carpet entrance into the Great Gala 2015. Blanchard is a 2014 graduate of WLU.
Guests will have the option of either entering in a dramatic fashion and walking the Red Carpet — or walking in via a separate path with less attention.
“We invite guests to enjoy the moment and reveal the names of their fashion or some fact that they want to share with Tate and Laurie, who will be discussing the glamour of the evening, the background of the Gala and the important support it provides to higher education in West Virginia,” said Vice President of Institutional Advancement Jason Koegler.
This year, proceeds go toward the David T. Javersak College of Liberal Arts Scholarship, named after former history professor and current dean emeritus of the School of Liberal Arts.
WTRF ABC is carried on Comcast HD Channel 804, Comcast Standard Definition Channel 4, Direct TV Channel 6 and Dish TV Channel 10.
