August 29, 2012 By Maureen Zambito

POSTED:  Aug. 29, 2012 – President Robin C. Capehart is participating in the West Virginia Chamber’s 76th annual Meeting and Business Summit that begins today and is held at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs. The meeting opens at 11 a.m., with lunch and remarks by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and Sen. Joe Manchin.

Capehart will take part in a symposium that looks at education challenges in West Virginia. It will meet at 7:45 a.m., Thursday. Sen. Bob Plymale, chairman of the Senate Education Committee, will moderate this panel, which also includes Tom Witt of West Virginia University, James Clements of West Virginia University, Pamela Balch of West Virginia Wesleyan College, Pat Kusimo of the Education Alliance and education reform advocate Charles McElwee.

West Liberty University television, WLU-TV-14, is videographing the summit and Theresa Gretchen, executive producer/executive director of WLU-TV-14, traveled to the Greenbrier with a crew of students and staff to cover the event. Reid Amos, WLU vice president of broadcasting will be conducting interviews with guest speakers and dignitaries during the three-day meeting.

Thursday’s sessions also will include special presentations by attorney general candidate Patrick Morrisey, Congressman David McKinley and U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito.

The keynote address will be provided by Dana Perino. Perino served as White House press secretary in President George W. Bush’s administration and is a Fox News contributor and co-host of “The Five.” Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Maloney also will speak.

In addition to the wide variety of quality information summit attendees will gain, the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and meeting sponsors are offering several events for attendees to enjoy and network with other business leaders from around the state. CPE credits can also be earned by attendees. For more information, visit the website www.wvchamber.com.
