New Members Appointed to the WLU Foundation Board of Directors

West Liberty University Foundation announced the appointment of new board members, Thomas Reinbold, Cindy Stickley and Will Turani, during its October meeting.

Reinbold, a Pittsburgh native, graduated from West Liberty in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree. He also was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity.

Reinbold enjoyed a 31-year career with the consumer products division of Bristol-Myers Squibb, beginning as a sales representative in 1973 and rising up through the ranks to the position of director of sales, national accounts. During his career he earned numerous awards, including sales representative of the year, division of the year and the president’s award.

Reinbold also was proactive in the hiring of women and minority candidates for employees and was recognized for his achievements in this important field prior to retiring from Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Reinbold and his college sweetheart, Eileen, married in 1971 and are the parents of two adult sons, Douglas and Matthew.

Both avid supporters of WLU, the Reinbolds were donors for WLU’s first graphics art scholarship and funded many improvements in the art department, as well as the Kelly Theatre and an endowment for future upgrades. They reside in Surprise, Ariz.

A life-long educator, administrator and educational consultant, Stickley is a resident of Powell, Ohio. Originally from Urbana, Ohio, she graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (K-8) and specific learning disabilities (K-12) then earned a master’s of education degree from Wright State University.

During her professional career, she taught students with specific learning disabilities for 10 years in grades K-6 in the Graham Local Schools in St. Paris, Ohio, and was a head teacher in an intermediate school.

She continued her career as supervisor of special education programs and curriculum development for an additional five years in Ashland, Ohio, through the Ashland County Board of Education, serving Hillsdale and Mapleton Local school districts.

She also was the specific learning disabilities consultant for the State of Ohio and worked at the Ohio Department of Education for 15 years.

Stickley was formerly married to deceased music professor and WLU alumnus Donald L. Pahl, Sr. and has developed a scholarship for music students in his name.

Stickley has served her community through her work with Habitat for Humanity, homeless education, arts’ council and farm preservation organizations. She enjoys her extended family, which includes 35 great nieces and nephews, along with three stepchildren and their families.

Turani, a resident of Wheeling, is currently the director of Global Operations and Sustainability at Orrick. He joined Orrick in December 2001 as director of operations and was an integral member of the management team that created the Wheeling Global Operations Center (GOC), a one of a kind facility in the legal industry, in 2002.

Among his local responsibilities, Turani is responsible for managing and sustaining internal GOC growth with specific responsibilities on leveraging success of the GOC by increasing employment possibilities in all functional areas of GOC operations.

Responsibilities include managing the firm’s business process outsourcing contract with Williams Lea and managing several of the firm’s operational relationships, such as, AMEX, FedEx, DHL, UPS and Staples.

Other responsibilities include the management of all aspects of travel, the firm’s Community Responsibility Program, the development and implementation of the firm’s first sustainability program, including participating in U.S. EPA/ABA Law Firm Climate Challenge, and the development, implementation, and maintenance of the firm’s emergency preparedness, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.

Will Turani

Prior to joining Orrick, Turani was Wheeling’s city manager for four years and the assistant city manager for four years prior to promotion to city manager.  He also served as the county administrator for Hancock County, W.Va., from 1989 to 1993.

A graduate of West Liberty with a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science degree, Turani also holds a Master’s in Public Administration degree from West Virginia University.

He has served on the Regional Economic Development Partnership (RED), the Community Foundation of the Upper Ohio Valley, the Belomar Regional Council and the Partners in Education program for Ohio County Schools. He and his wife Tracey have two children, Nicholas, age 21, and Anna, age 14.
