POSTED: June 28, 2012 – West Liberty University has selected Maureen Zambito as its director of media relations. She begins her duties July 1, 2012.
Zambito was director of public relations at Wheeling Jesuit University for the past seven years. Prior to her employment at WJU, she was the director of public relations at Oglebay Institute. A 1996 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, Zambito will coordinate news coverage and assist with WLU’s marketing campaign.
“I am very pleased to join West Liberty University, the oldest institution of higher education in the state and one that is making a positive difference in our community and the region on a daily basis,” Zambito said.
Zambito reports to Jason Koegler, vice president of institutional advancement.
Zambito serves on the board of West Virginia Independence Hall Foundation and is a member of the Oglebay Institute Museum Committee. She is the author of a weekly column, “Antique of the Week,” appearing in the Sunday Wheeling News Register, and is a freelance photographer for In Wheeling magazine.
Zambito is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Wheeling and a member of the Public Relations Society of America. She is a resident of Warwood.
West Liberty University is a forward-looking, four-year public university steeped in a rich heritage as West Virginia’s oldest institution of higher education.
