West Liberty University’s Family Fun Day will conclude its week of student celebrations entitled “Hollywood on the Hilltop.” The family day will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 26 and is sponsored by the Office of Housing and Student Life. The daylong event includes a variety of activities and is free and open to the public.
“Moms, dads, grandparents and children are encouraged to come! This day is designed to give everyone in the family a fun opportunity to actively enjoy West Liberty University,” said Marcella Snyder, associate dean of Student Services and director of Housing and Student Life.
“We want to provide options for families to make lasting memories and have fun, so this event gives local families a really special opportunity to have a great day they will always remember,” she added.
It begins with the Exercise Physiology Club’s Third Annual 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Team MOJO Foundation at 10 a.m., with registration beginning at 9 a.m. at the Blatnik Gym.
At noon in College Union Ballroom, different campus clubs will have games and crafts for children to participate in, all based around Disney themes.
Down at the softball field, the Hilltopper softball team will be taking on Fairmont State in a doubleheader showdown at 1 and 3 p.m., with a “barbecue grill out” for families with free food and games.
Saturday will conclude with a movie on Hoge Quadrangle at 5 p.m. Guests are asked to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy the movie, “Frozen,” that concludes with a bonfire and s’mores!
