WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Feb. 9, 2016 — West Liberty University’s Highlands Center will be the site for the upcoming 2016 Hill Raiser Endurance Challenge, an inaugural road race to be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 27.

All money raised will go to the American Heart Association.

Actor, comedian Sean Corvelle will motivate participants by performing at the race. A resident of Sacramento, Calif., Corvelle travels all over the world as the Start and Motivation Guy for Tough Mudder racers.

“I love living close to my family and currently have the best job I’ve ever had working with Tough Mudder… and I’ve had some great jobs,” he posts on his website, seancorvelle.com.

The race “Hooray 2 Heroes” will start and finish at the Highlands Center, home. Several WLU employees are participating in the challenge.

The event features a 9.5K/5.9M trail run and will honor top performing military veterans, police officers, SWAT members and firefighters.

According to the Extreme Endurance Training’s official website it is “a project inspired by our military, and first responders, where we honor people that give service and sacrifice to their fellow humans all over the world.”

Registration is open online until noon, Thursday, Feb. 25.

The Highlands Center provides a number of educational opportunities from undergraduate to graduate level courses and from continuing education to a full schedule of summer term courses.
