The West Liberty University Great Gala is sold out for the second straight year. This annual event is only two years old and received an overwhelming response from the community and WLU alumni in its first year, last April.
This year the event is brought to you by The Ryan Ferns Healthplex and is held at the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center Pine Room, Saturday, April 28.
The cocktail reception begins at 6:30 p.m. During dinner a Vaudeville Variety Show will be performed by WLU faculty and students. After dinner, a show will be performed by Davina and The Vagabonds known in The Twin Cities, Minnesota as being the busiest band in town because of their hard-working professionalism, high energy stage performance, and original sound.
All proceeds from this fundraising event will go toward the University’s initiative to make West Liberty a Great University! In particular, proceeds will support the Kelly Theatre Encore Campaign, which will provide much-needed renovations to WLU’s Kelly Theatre located in the Hall of Fine Arts. Kelly Theatre, a cultural fixture on the West Liberty campus since 1967, was named in honor of Dr. Helen M.T. Kelly, who was a member of the Speech and Theatre department faculty from 1964-1976. Dr. Kelly directed the first production in the new theatre.
