Our faculty, Mrs. Kathleen Wack, and our students in the Health and Physical Education program conducted the Active Eagles program at West Liberty Elementary School. The local students learned the sport skills through fun and creative activities!
=Center McMechen Students Visited Our College=
The students at Center McMechen Elementary School visited our College this week. They worked with our faculty in the Health and Physical Education program and students from PE 108 Lifetime Team & Dual Sports to receive dynamic movement and sport learning experiences.
=Semi-Finalists in the Prize “Canvas My Campus Contest”=
Congratulations! We are very proud of our students (Jessica Glasgow, Ramsay Core, and Kelley Stiles) in the Community Education program for being semi-finalists in Prezi’s second annual Canvas My Campus Contest. This contest invites College students to create a pitch in Prezi that shows the dreams of students for change on their campus, in their community, or around the world. The 10 finalists will be featured on Tilt to raise funding for their ideas.
=Faculty Presented at WV CREATE Conference and Maker Convening=
Ms. Lou Karas, the Director of Center for Arts and Education, had a presentation “Where Students Learn Matters: Creative and Sustainable Learning Spaces Connect Cultures” at CREATE WV Conference and led a panel discussion at WV Maker Convening.
=Faculty Members Presented at WV Higher Education Technology Conference=
Our Instructional Technology faculty members, Mr. Earl Nicodemus and Dr. Li-Wei Peng, had presentation/post sessions at WV Higher Education Technology Conference. They exchanged innovative ideas, insights, and approaches of Flipped Classroom and Collaborative Learning with the educators to help move education forward in the state.
=College of Education iPad Ecosystem=
The College of Education takes the initiative in leveraging mobile technology for enhanced instruction. We apply the SAMR model as a guide to aid educators with the integration of technology into teaching and learning. We build a successful iPads/technology-enriched community at the College of Education (faculty & students) and reap the benefits of iPads/instructional technologies. We also create a technology professional development model for teachers in K-12 PDS schools. Please watch a brief Introductory Video.
=hAPPy Friday Tools/Apps Learning=
The Rehabilitation for Lower Limbs is a clinically relevant and educational app for faculty and students in the Athletic Training program to visually and effectively communicate 165 injury, condition, and disorder concepts and exercise rehabilitation to their clients.
