STATEMENT FROM CHAIRMAN HENDRICKSON
“On behalf of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, I would like to thank Dr. Brian Noland for his steadfast commitment and exemplary service as Chancellor of the state’s higher education system. Yesterday evening, Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor John Morgan announced that Dr. Noland will be recommended to become the 9th President of East Tennessee State University subject to confirmation at Monday afternoon’s meeting of the Tennessee Board of Regents.
The state’s higher education system has forever been changed due to Dr. Noland’s countless institutional and statewide contributions and limitless passion for education and the future of the Great State of West Virginia. Dr. Noland’s visionary leadership and dynamic presence will be greatly missed. It is with sincere admiration and respect that I wish Dr. Noland and his family well on this new professional and personal journey.
Pending approval by the Tennessee Board of Regents, the Commission will develop a plan to ensure a seamless transition of leadership. The Commission’s Executive Committee has been in discussions concerning the same and a transitional plan will be approved by the full Commission in mid-December.”
Mr. David Hendrickson, Chairman, West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission
