WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Nov. 12, 2018 — Todd F. Clossin, CEO of WesBanco will perform the duties of commencement speaker at West Liberty University’s Fall 2018 Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, in the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex (ASRC).
President Stephen Greiner will preside at the ceremony and will present Clossin with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree.
“I am so grateful to Todd for taking time from his busy schedule to share his advice and experience with our December graduates. WesBanco is a strong employer and true supporter of higher education and we look forward to his participation in our ceremony,” Greiner said.
Clossin is the president and chief executive officer of WesBanco Inc. and its bank affiliate WesBanco Bank Inc.
WesBanco has assets of approximately 12.6 billion with 209 offices in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Indiana.
Clossin joined WesBanco in 2013 as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He had previously served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati, Ohio.
His 30-year banking career has included executive leadership positions in many markets that are currently served by WesBanco.
He is a 1984 graduate of Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio, where he earned a bachelor’s in business administration and a 1988 of Akron University with an MBA. He also is a graduate of the University of Virginia Darden School of Business Advanced Commercial Lending program, Case Western Reserve Weatherhead School of Business Executive Leadership program, Center for Creative Leadership’s Leadership at the Peak program, Stanford University Strategy and Organization program and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business Executive Leadership program.
He currently serves on the boards of the West Virginia Bankers Association and the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges and is past chairman of each of these organizations.
Residents of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Clossin and his wife, Paula, are the parents of three grown children.
Doors open for seating at commencement at 9:30 a.m. and tickets are not required for fall commencement.
