The College of Liberal and Creative Arts (CoLCA) is home to rigorous majors in the arts, social sciences, humanities, and professional programs, majors that prepare students for career success or advanced academic study. We are also an inclusive, engaging community at the heart of the university, where our general education courses prepare all graduates to be creative, curious, and well-informed global citizens.
Our courses and curricula build students’ abilities to read and think critically, write and speak effectively, understand the structures and functions of society, and honor artistry and excellence. In addition to cultivating these skills, CoLCA faculty also challenge students to practice recognizing and valuing multiple perspectives, to value diversity and seek justice, and to produce knowledge and creative work in collaboration with our faculty researchers, artists, practitioners, and scholars.
