Teletherapy

In order to make services more accessible to community members, we offer teletherapy (i.e., videoconference) as an option at the same rate as in-person sessions. Clients who utilize the teletherapy option can attend appointments from the comfort of their homes (or other private location) by using a computer or smartphone equipped with a camera and microphone. Teletherapy clients must have an email account and access to a quiet, private space during the session. Clients may request teletherapy by calling the clinic to schedule an intake or by discussing it with their Psychology Trainee. Teletherapy is only offered to residents of West Virginia who are in the state at the time of service. Not all populations or presenting issues are appropriate for teletherapy. Appropriateness will be determined by the Psychology Trainee and their clinical supervisor on an ongoing basis. We also have limited equipment, and, therefore, teletherapy is offered on a first-come, first serve basis.

Teletherapy will only be conducted using our HIPAA compliant Zoom account and only to take place (on our end) within the Clinic. Clients will access sessions by using a Zoom link sent by the Psychology Trainee prior to the session. Confidentiality is a priority in all cases, but clients should be aware that there are additional limitations when using any online software, which a Psychology Trainee will detail during the first appointment.
