Staff Advisory Council is pleased to bring back the Hein Award in honor of Harry and Constance Hein
The Hein Staff Recognition Award is given to honor and recognize a member of the West Liberty University staff for excellence in the performance of their work-related duties as well as their loyalty and devotion to the goals and purposes of the university. The Sponsors of this award, Harry and Constance Hein will provide this award and will make annual additional awards, which will be deposited in the Hein Staff Recognition Award Fund in the West Liberty University Foundation, Inc. This supplemental cash gift will be added to the principle of the fund each year with the intent that the interest generated from the principle will eventually allow the fund to be self-sustaining.
All staff employees of the university are to be eligible for this award providing they are full-time employees of the university and have served at least one (1) calendar year of employment at the university. Those eligible must be a member of the maintenance staff, grounds crew, the secretary/clerical staff, the campus police force, or a building service worker. Supervisory personnel and professional librarians, even though they may be considered as staff, are not eligible for this award. The award will be in the form of a $500 check made payable to the recipient to be invested or spent however the recipient decides. The actual selection of the award winner will be determined by a random drawing at a predetermined time and place. It has been suggested that this drawing be held in the presence of the Staff Council.
The 2021 Hein Award will be drawn at the Employee Appreciation Picnic on June 25th, 2021.
