The Healthcare Management major prepares graduates to work in the business of healthcare. The Healthcare industry makes up one-sixth of the United States GDP. Graduates of West Liberty University with a major in Healthcare Management will be prepared to work in administration, business offices, and throughout the revenue cycle in hospitals, clinics, and a variety of healthcare facilities
Management Major
All organizations require good management, which is both an art and a science. The management major is a generalized management program that develops individuals to become capable managers for any type of organization. Management is one area of business that technology will never be able to replace, thus ensuring there will always be jobs in management.
Marketing Major
Sport Management Major
The sport management major is designed to educate students on the business side of the sport industry. Students will learn the business functions performed by sport industry professionals. Students majoring in sport management complete a 300 practical hour internship with a sport organization. Students in the sport management major are also encouraged to seek professional development opportunities beyond their required internship to enhance their employment prospects should they decide to pursue a career in the competitive and dynamic sport industry.
Zoo Management Major
West Liberty’s Zoo Management program is designed to educate the student on the functions of Zoo Management from not only the business application, but also by having the basic animal acumen necessary for success in a zoo management role. In a typical zoo, over half of all employees work in administrative and support functions. Management is needed to oversee such things as: daily operations, finance and accounting, human resources, fund raising, promotional activities, concessions, and development and expansion of the facility. Our students receive hands-on experience working with animals at Oglebay’s Good Zoo, which is nationally recognized by the AZA
