Richard Sherlock is a founder and Principal at LRS Consultants, LLC. LRS Consultants provides tailored business development, strategy formulation and execution, organizational assessment, and problem-solving services for large and small non-profit and for-profit organizations. Rick is an experienced executive with over 20 years of demonstrated leadership in building and transforming high-profile government and private-sector operations into agile, high-performance organizations that exceed objectives. Rick’s government, private-sector, and non-profit experience includes an extensive background in strategic planning, business development, operations, training, financial management, fundraising and development, human resource management, proposal writing and red-teaming, and in aviation operations, maintenance, and safety programs. Prior to founding LRS Consultants, Rick was the President and CEO of the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) and the MedEvac Foundation International. AAMS is the international trade association that represents providers of rotary-wing and fixed-wing air medical transport services and for ground critical care and specialty care transport services. The MedEvac Foundation is the industry’s leading charitable organization that supports medical transport providers and the patients they serve through research, education, and charitable programs.
Prior to joining AAMS and the MedEvac Foundation International, Rick had a very rewarding and challenging career in the U.S. Army, where he served in a wide variety of positions, including the Chief of Staff and the Director of Strategy, Plans, and Programs for U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany. Rick served in senior positions in the Pentagon, on both the Joint Staff and on the Department of the Army Staff, and routinely interacted with Congressional Members, committees, and staffs and with the U.S. and International Press Corps. He served in Iraq, and has led organizations of all sizes, from large organizations to small high-performing teams.
Rick enjoys a life-long love of aviation, has flown a variety of aircraft, and has served as an Instructor Pilot, Standardization Instructor Pilot, and Instrument Flight Examiner. He has lived and worked overseas and enjoys working with people of diverse cultures.
Rick earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from The Ohio State University, a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Troy University, and a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College.
Rick balances career and family life with his wife Lyn, who transitioned from her career with the U.S. Air Force, and their two daughters. He is involved in community organizations and serves on the Board of Directors of the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer and the National Executive Board of the Army Aviation Association of America.
