The Gary E. West College of Business at West Liberty University encourages and supports student participation in internships.
Real-world work experience can often be just the edge you need to land that great job, and one of the best ways to gain experience is by working as an intern in your field during your college career. At the West College of Business, we are very serious about internships. All students are encouraged to find and complete a quality internship. Not only is this a great resume-builder, but you also can gain academic credit while completing your internship.
In addition, the internship is an opportunity for students to evaluate career choices and to acquire career-related experience in a professional setting. Through these experiences, students learn how to be effective in business situations and gain a better understanding of job skills needed to be successful in their field.
Our faculty members will help you think creatively about internship possibilities, work with you to identify potential companies and organizations, and assist you with advice on making contacts.
Students interested in pursuing an internship and gaining academic credit, should discuss internship guidelines and procedures with their academic advisor.
