Brian L. Crawford, Ph.D. is Provost of West Liberty University and a Professor of Geography. Before becoming Provost in February 2013, Dr. Crawford was Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at West Liberty and had previously served as Chair of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. He holds a PhD in Geography from Indiana State University, an MS in Earth Science from California University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Geography from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He served as a navigation specialist in the U.S. Navy and as a missile officer in the U.S. Air Force before retiring from active duty in 1996.
ASSISTANT PROVOST for Academic Innovation and Strategic Planning
Dr. Jeremy Larance is the Assistant Provost for Academic Innovation and Strategic Planning and a Professor of English at West Liberty University where he previously served as the Chair of the Department of Humanities and as the Chair of the General Studies Assessment Committee. He earned his doctorate in English from the University of Tulsa, his M.A in English from Louisiana Tech University, and his BA in English from the University of the South (Sewanee).
ASSISTANT TO THE PROVOST
Elizabeth Richter, M.A., is Assistant to the Provost. She is a West Liberty University alumna, receiving her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Music and Theater. Elizabeth earned her Masters in Higher Education Administration from West Virginia University, and was previously employed at West Liberty as the Student Support Coordinator in the Learning & Student Development Center.
