Matthew Colonna
Hey there! My name is Matthew Colonna and I am originally from South Charleston, West Virginia. I graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration. In 2017, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and currently participate in drill weekends as a reservist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. Prior to starting WLU’s PA Program, I had the privilege of attending West Liberty University as a graduate student and fell in love with the campus and close-knit community atmosphere. Although I had no clue that I would end up at West Liberty University for PA school, I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made.
As someone who came from humble beginnings, I frequently reflect on how fortunate I am to be given the opportunity to fulfill my ambition of becoming a healthcare provider. I’ve had a long and arduous journey leading up to this point, but I would never trade the experience and lessons I’ve learned along the way. As I progress through the program, I look forward to learning as much as possible so I can take on such a vital role in health care as a physician assistant. My final word of advice to anyone reading this… give your best effort, don’t make excuses, work extremely hard to achieve your goals, and never give up on yourself! J
