Lauren Ruffing
My name is Lauren, and I am from Bentleyville, Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2020 from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Science and a minor in European history, with a certificate in the foundations of conceptual medicine. After four years in the city, I knew I was ready for a different kind of home, away from home. The WLU PA class was the perfect fit for me. I knew I wanted to be a PA when I started working in patient care during my undergrad. Being able to work alongside the PAs, I saw that they treated all people with respect and compassion. To their core they wanted to help people, and always advocated for the patient’s best interest. After my experiences, I knew that it was what I was meant to do. In my free time outside of school, I love to hike, weightlift, and kayak. I love to travel and plan to continue exploring new locations whenever I can. I also spend a lot of my time running a mini zoo at home, consisting of two goofy dogs and one very sassy cat.
