How does a self-driving car identify stop signs? How does your favorite streaming service always know what new series to recommend? The Data Science degree is designed to harness your passion for computer programming and mathematics to solve real-world problems like these and countless others.
Data science integrates mathematics, statistics, computer science, advanced analytics, and machine learning to discover actionable information embedded in data. These insights are used by subject matter experts to help solve complex science and engineering problems, as well as to inform decision making and strategic planning for business enterprises.
Our program starts out by providing students with the necessary foundation in math, statistics, and computer programming. As students progress through the program, they are gradually introduced to advanced data science concepts, machine learning techniques, and coding practices that are standards in the modern data science industry.
Using a project focused approach, students will maintain a personal data science project portfolio that can be shared with potential employers during the interview process.
