Maciej Zdanowicz (b.1982)

Wojciech Domagalski (b. 1984)

Maciej Zdanowicz is an intermedia artist and art theorist who works in the field of new media, especially digital art, sound art, also graphic design. His interests are focused on the imaging of sound and music. His art is based on field recording and visualization of specific soundscapes.

He works as an Assistant Professor and Deputy Director for Didactic and Students Affairs at the Institute of Fine Arts, the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. Also, he is the curator of Delrium ArtLab – Delirium Edition Organisation for Tomorrow’s Art. He is a member of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE), Polish Society Electroacoustic Music (PSeMe), and International Print Triennial Society in Cracow. He received awards and honors (Artistic Scholarship of Lodz City Mayor in 2017, honorable mention in the I National Exhibition of Student Drawing in Torun in 2008, the prize of the City Art Gallery in Lodz at the 23rd Wladyslaw Strzeminski Competition- Fine Arts).

From 2002-2007 he studied at the Faculty of Graphic and Painting, the Wladyslaw Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. He completed his diploma in the prof. Boguslaw Balicki’s Studio of Poster Design and prof. Romana Halat’s Studio of Painting and Drawing. From 2007 to 2016, he worked as a Teacher Assistant in the Studio of Image run by prof. Aleksandra Gieraga, at the Faculty of Visual Arts of his Alma Mater. In 2015, Zdanowicz received PhD degree in Fine Arts at the Institute of Fine Arts, the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.

Wojciech Domagalski is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2010), he studied under Prof. Lech Majewski. He received his doctorate from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2018. His field of interest includes painting, drawing, graphic art, and graphic design. In terms of his commercial designs, Dr. Domagalski works as an independent graphic designer within the “Nowa robocza” design studio. His work has featured in 15 solo exhibitions and over 100 group exhibitions in Poland and around the world, including Germany, France, Italy, Israel, China, Japan, and the US). In 2016, he was awarded a grant from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Dr. Domagalski has won several awards for his work, including: Silver Medal at the 26th Polish Poster Biennale in Warsaw, the 8th and 9th Graphic Arts Triennale in Katowice (2013, 2015), the V International Drawing Contest in Wrocław (2012), the Art Scholarship of the city of Warsaw (2011), the Irena and Adam Galikowski Awards (2010), the President of Warsaw’s Grand Prix 2009; he was also a finalist at the Hestia Artistic Journey competition. His work can be found in many collections, including the Zuckerman Museum of Art (US), the Warsaw Historical Museum, the Warsaw Poster Museum at Wilanów, the International Graphic Art Triennale Association in Krakow, the “Golden Bee” Moscow Graphic Art Biennale, the Triennale “Stage Poster” Fund in Sophia. Dr. Domagalski’s published work includes: “OTO Polish poster art”, Dorota Folga-Januszewska (2018); “The Best Polish Poster Illustration,” Grzegorz S. Budnik (2017); “Print Control no. 6: Best printed from Poland” (2017).
