Robert Villamagna Jr Memorial Scholarship

The Robert Villamagna Jr. Memorial Scholarship is available to current WLU Art Education and Visual Communication students. This scholarship was established in memory of Robert Villamagna Jr., who tragically passed away at the age of 28 in a train-car accident. He had a deep passion for art, mainly black-and-white photography. The scholarship was founded through the efforts of his father, Robert Villamagna Sr., an art faculty member, and his colleague, William Baronak, to support WLU students who share a similar passion for the visual arts.

The scholarship is open to WLU visual arts students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2025-26 academic year.

WHO CAN APPLY:
– Students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior semesters during the 2025-26 academic year will be considered
– Students majoring in Visual Communication (Graphic Design, Studio Art, Illustration or Digital Media Design) or Art Education
– Students who show creativity, craftsmanship, and an active commitment to developing their artistic voice.
– Applicants in good academic standing
– Preference for a student who displays financial need
– Should have a desire to give back to campus and/or the greater community through art

APPLICATION PROCESS:
Each interested student must complete the Scholarship Application Form below to be considered for the scholarship. Please note that incomplete submissions will not be eligible for consideration.

SELECTION & AWARD:
The recipient will be chosen by the faculty based on creativity, technical skill, and artistic growth potential. Scholarship amounts may vary annually depending on available funds.

APPLICATION TIMELINE:

October 22nd, 2025 – November 15th, 2025: Scholarship applications are accepted online.
By November 20th, 2025 – Notification will be sent to the selected student.
