2011 International Technology, Education and Development Conference

Associate Professor of Graphic Design Jim Haizlett will be making an oral paper presentation at the 2011 International Technology, Education and Development Conference – (www.inted2011.org) in Valencia, Spain on March 7 – 9. The goal of INTED2011 is to promote international collaboration in Education and Research in all educational fields and disciplines. The conference provides the opportunity to present and discuss research, case studies, applications, and the latest innovations in the field of Higher Education and Industry. Attendance of more than 500 delegates from 65 different countries is expected.

Professor Haizlett’s published paper will join an ISBN database of innovative projects in Education and Research. The paper explores online alternatives to the use of textbooks in the classroom, specifically for instructors of graphics and design courses. Recently, Professor Haizlett began using online video tutorial resources, in lieu of requiring a textbook. His paper can be viewed by clicking here.

West Liberty University’s Provost Dr. John McCullough complimented Professor Haizlett by saying “This is a unique platform and a signature accomplishment on the part of Jim Haizlett, the Department of Media and Visual Arts, the College of Arts and Communication, and the entire University.”

Professor Haizlett’s paper has also been accepted for publication by the Global Conference on Technology, Innovation, Media & Education (Global TIME). The conference is sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Computing and Professor Haizlett will be making a live virtual presentation on February 22. People from around the world will view the presentation in a live multimedia format allowing for feedback and discussion.
