West Liberty University was represented at the 2012 Oglebayfest by faculty and students. The Visual Art program provided exhibitor space for our ceramics, crafts and painting students. Faculty members Robert Villamagna Nancy Tirone, Lambros Tsuhlares and West Liberty librarian Cheryl Harshman also exhibited.  Oglebayfest is the biggest festival in the greater Wheeling area attracting over 80,000 people to the park. Dozens of artists and crafters exhibit in the artist market and each vendor must meet the approval of Oglebay Institutes Rick Morgan for quality.

WLU student and AIGA member Amanda Swann posted on her Facebook wall “Second day at Oglebayfest was awesome, even with the 40-50 degree weather. I sold a lot.” “This is an opportunity for students to share their work with the public, work as entrepreneurs, and make connections. It is a positive for the students and shows the work of WLU students in a fun atmospher” said Professor Brian Fencl, Chair of the Visual Art Department.
