International Studies

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences currently offers a minor in International Studies.

International Studies Minor – Course Requirements


The department does not currently offer a major in International Studies. However, if you are interested in focusing your academic studies in this area, there are options to create your own International Studies major through the Interdisciplinary Studies Program. Below, you will find an example of a possible track of study that will give you an idea of the kinds of programs you could develop. REL 250 Religions of the World, ENG 492 World Literature II, or ART 342 History of Western Art III (1750 to present)

Political Science Requirement
12 additional hours of POLS at least three at the 300-400 level

Public Relations Courses

Com 415 PR Writing

Additional electives with an international focus to equal 120 hours

Foreign Language Requirement
Four semesters of the same foreign language (Spanish or French)

8-12 hours project
One independent study project of 8 to 12 semester hours in the form of directed research, an internship, or a combination of several activities related to major undertaken during the junior or senior year.
