Ph.D. in English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania
M.A. in English from Marshall University
B.A. in English from West Liberty State College (n.k.a. West Liberty University)

Biography
William Scott Hanna began teaching at West Liberty University in Fall 2008. He earned his PhD in 2012 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania after completing his dissertation on American Ecopoetics. His areas of interest include American Literature, Appalachian Literature, Native American Literature, and poetry. His teaching duties at West Liberty include American Literature, creative writing, composition, and Appalachian Literature. In addition, he is currently the coordinator of the Hughes Lecture Series.
His poetry and creative nonfiction have appeared in Pine Mountain Sand and Gravel, Cleaver Magazine, Still: The Journal, and others.
