Tuesday, August 13th at 10 AM — Creating Assignments, Tests, and Quizzes in Sakai

During this webinar, participants will learn how to use both the Assignments and Tests & Quizzes tools in Sakai. Topics include Respondus Lockdown Browser, Creating Exceptions, Sending Grades to Gradebook, Turnitin, and Adding Images to Test Questions.

It’s a simple, secure tool available to all faculty members whether you teach online or not. This webinar covers all the basic and some of the advanced functions of Sakai Gradebook. It also covers recording student attendance in the Attendance tool.

Thursday, October 3rd at 1 PM — Mixing It Up: Creating Different Question Types in Sakai Tests & Quizzes
Tired of using only multiple choice and true/false questions in your exams? This webinar will show you how to create a variety of question types including fill in the blank, hotspot, matching, audio response, and survey.

Thursday, October 10th at 1 PM — Structuring Content Pages in Sakai 23 for Classroom-Based Courses
This webinar will show you how to structure course content for maximum effect. Topics include: adding text, formatting text following accessibility guidelines, changing page layout, embedding items on the page, inserting images, and adding alternative text.

Thursday, October 17th at 1 PM — Where Does Artificial Intelligence Fit in the Classroom?
Tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, DALL-E, and QuillBot have brought AI into the classroom more quickly than many expected. Since there is no putting this genie back in the bottle, we must adapt our teaching strategies to account for this technology. In this session, we will look at some of the AI tools currently available as well as best practices for incorporating it into assignments, grading, test creation, etc.
