The WLU 2010-11 Concert Artist Series will host The IonSound Project on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 8:00 p.m., in the Elbin Auditorium, College Hall.
The IonSound Project’s members represent some of the most in demand young musicians in the Pittsburgh area. Since giving its first concert in 2004, the ensemble has presented more than 80 works by 20th and 21st century composers, demonstrating an ongoing dedication to presenting the work of established and emerging composers from the Pittsburgh region as well as from across the country.
“The IonSound Project’s exciting concert program will focus on the works of Joan Tower, a Grammy-winning contemporary American composer lauded by the New Yorker as ‘one of the most successful woman composers of all time’,” said Gerald Lee, Coordinator of the WLU Concert Series.
This concert is free and open to the public. For more information please contact the WLU Department of Music at (304) 336-8930.
