WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., May 3, 2024 – West Liberty University announced today the extension of the Tuition Free Toppers deadline to July 1, 2024, in response to the state of emergency declared by Governor Jim Justice. This extension aims to make education more accessible for in-state students amidst the challenges posed by the ongoing FAFSA upgrades.
In addition to the deadline extension, West Liberty University is committed to assisting students and families with their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any questions they may have. The university’s Office of Financial Aid is available to provide guidance and support throughout the application process.
“We understand the hardships many students and families are facing during this time,” said Katie Cooper, Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at West Liberty University. “Our priority is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to pursue their education without unnecessary barriers. By extending the Tuition-Free Toppers Program deadline and offering support with FAFSA applications, we aim to provide the assistance and resources needed for student success.”
West Liberty University is pleased to report that FAFSA numbers remain strong, with more than 600 financial aid packages already distributed to prospective students and families. This indicates a positive trend in student interest and readiness for the upcoming academic year. The university remains committed to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for all students.
