West Liberty President Robin Capehart announced plans for West Liberty University Week activities and the release of the West Liberty University Week Website on Wednesday, March 18th during a monthly campus report.  Numerous activities are being scheduled for West Liberty students, faculty, staff, and alumni in addition to the community at large.  University Week will run from Monday, April 27 – Sunday, May 3, 2009.  A week full of events will culminate with ‘University Eve’ on Saturday, May 2nd; including the final day of an on-campus carnival, a variety of bands, a renowned illusionist, and other activities leading to a midnight fireworks display that will mark West Liberty State College becoming West Liberty University.  Sunday, May 3rd will be tabbed ‘University Day’, to include a number of additional activities and ceremonies.
