WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Aug. 30, 2019 — West Liberty University completed its Master Plan recently, collaborating with administration, faculty, staff, Board of Governors and a variety of professionals in the Mills Group as it put together a roadmap to sort through deferred maintenance projects, expected expansions and campus changes expected in the future.
“We’re pleased to have our new plan available now and I want to thank architect Victor Greco from The Mills Group who assisted us in our work. The last time a Master Plan was completed was in 1999, so it is a much-needed document that was long overdue,” President Stephen Greiner said.
The outline of the 149-page plan is laid out in phases. Chapters include topics such as campus location, campus analysis, master plan recommendations and master plan phasing.
“My number one priority is to take care of all of the deferred maintenance projects that have been put off too long. It is just a matter of having the budget to do the things that have been laid out in this plan,” Greiner added.
The Executive Summary of the plan includes recommendations in areas of deferred maintenance and infrastructure, gateways, wayfinding, recreation improvements, circulation, parking and crosswalks, building programming and utilization, landscape preservation and enhancements, trail connection and improvements, public art and future development and growth.
WLU’s mission is to provide students the opportunity for a high-quality undergraduate, graduate and professional education through appropriate formats and venues.
