WHEELING, W.Va., Nov. 16, 2021 — West Liberty University Alumnus Scott Schenerlein has been named Executive Director of the local nonprofit organization, Wheeling Heritage. A Wheeling native, he is a 2001 graduate of WLU and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree on the Hilltop.

Wheeling Heritage announced the news on Nov. 16 and Schenerlein assumes the role on Dec. 13.
Schenerlein previously served as the director of catering at Oglebay Resort and Conference Center where he gained over 25 years of experience in management, budgeting, revenue generation and relationship-building. He succeeds Alex Weld, who during her tenure oversaw the growth of the organization, advocated for state and federal policy and supported efforts to revitalize Wheeling.
