Marino Galluzzo

Marino Galluzzo
Saxophone & woodwind artist, educator and clinician.

Marino Galluzzo has appeared as a saxophone & woodwind soloist & ensemble performer across the US, Canada & Italy. His performances include radio, television, recording, symphony orchestra and shows with top local and international celebrities.

He is one of the founders of the Three Rivers Saxophone Quartet, performing together for over 40 years. He also was a founding member of both the Canadian Saxophone Quartet and the Canadian Woodwind Trio.

Marino currently holds the position of adjunct professor of saxophone at West Liberty University in West Virginia. There he is building a saxophone studio and offers quartet experience for his students as well. Former University teaching experience includes adjunct professor of saxophone and woodwinds at both Duquesne University and Indiana University of PA. He is a recently retired Public School music
teacher with over 25 years of experience.

Marino is a freelance woodwind artist performing concerts and offering clinics and masterclasses. He also serves on the board and is resident woodwind musician for QM Productions, Inc., He is heard on the original cast recordings of Shirley Barasch’s musical, “Mary Shelley and her Frankenstein”, and Perfect Fifth Books children’s book, “Find your own Voice”. Other recordings include Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra with Andre Previn, and the Graham Grubb Orchestra. Marino has also recorded with the Three Rivers Saxophone Quartet’s 2 CDs, “Celebrating 25 Years and “MistleToons”. Also, Marino has performed at the World Saxophone Congress in Evanston, IL and World Saxophone Congress regional congress events in Stroudsburg and Pittsburgh, PA.

Marino is instructor of saxophone at Johnstonbaugh’s Music in Bridgeville PA and he maintains a private woodwind studio. Marino has hosted for the past 25 years a summer saxophone and woodwind workshop featuring many top jazz and classical artists/clinicians. He has presented numerous concerts and clinics on all woodwind instruments covering topics ranging from basics to advanced techniques.

Marino is also very active in arranging for the saxophone, woodwinds and strings in solo and ensemble formats. In addition he has done all the design and layout for all of his and the Three Rivers Saxophone quartet publicity and clinic/workshop brochures and flyers.

Some of Marino’s teachers include: Nestor Koval, First Prize, Paris Conservatory – Bernard Cerilli, Pittsburgh Symphony – Larry Teal and Donald Sinta, University of Michigan – Master class lessons with Jean Marie Londeix, Fred Hemke and Eugene Rousseau

Marino is a Selmer Saxophone Endorsing Artist.

The Division of Music at West Liberty University offers undergraduate degrees in Music Education, Music Performance, and Music Technology.

Among our many ensembles are the Marching Hilltoppers, University Singers, Wind Symphony, Community Choir, Percussion Ensemble, Choral Scholars, African Drum and Dance Ensemble, University Band, Steel Band, and Electronic Music Ensemble.
