Honors Recital

The West Liberty University College of Arts and Communication, Division of Music presents its annual Honors Recital on Sunday, May 6, at 3 p.m. in the Helen Pierce Elbin Auditorium in College Hall on the university campus. This year’s recital features five outstanding students. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Honors Recital celebrates and represents some of the finest musical talents in WLU’s Department of Music. Student performers are selected for the Honors Recital through a competitive audition, adjudicated by off-campus professional musicians. The judges for this year’s Honors Recital auditions were Bruce Ensinger, music specialist in the Wetzel County School system; Robert Frankenberry, member of the University of Pittsburgh’s Music on the Edge Ensemble, the new Pittsburgh-based IonSound Project, and New York’s Phoenix Players; and Roger Zahab, faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh (Pa.) as Senior Lecturer and Director of the University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Music on the Edge Chamber Orchestra.
JACK CARDOSY-FISHER is a junior pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in Music Education. Cardosy-Fisher studies percussion with Professor Brian Baldauff, Instructor of Music. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in music education and to ultimately be a high school music educator within the public school system. He is the son of Jacilyn Cardosy and Van Fisher and is from Martins Ferry, Ohio.
MICHAEL MATTHIAS DOTSON is a senior pursuing a bachelor of music degree in Vocal Performance. Dotson studies voice with Dr. Angela Day, Adjunct Professor of Voice. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in music theory and composition. He is the son of Cara Leigh Keenan and Michael Seldon Dotson and is from Middlebourne, W.Va.
MICHAEL L. ANDERSON is a junior pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in Music Education. Anderson studies piano with Dr. Gerald Lee, Associate Professor of Music. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in conducting. He is the son of Ruthann Smith and Gary Richard Anderson and is from Mount Pleasant, Ohio.
ANTHONY J. PANEBIANCO is a sophomore pursuing a bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. Panebianco studies classical and jazz saxophone with Dr. Christopher Barrick, Assistant Professor of Music. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in music, furthering his interest in the field of composition. He is the son of Rebecca and Mark Panebianco and is from Wintersville, Ohio.
TIMOTHI WILLIAMS is a sophomore pursuing a bachelor of music degree in Vocal Performance. Williams studies voice with Dr. Linda Cowan, Associate Professor of Music. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in vocal performance. She is the daughter of Tammy Renee and Timothy Williams and is from Wellsburg, W.Va.
